Sections, in order
- Name, discipline and contact. E.g. "Electrical Engineer, power distribution".
- Professional registration. PEC registration number, SCE membership and grade, PMP or other certificates with years.
- Profile. Discipline, years, type of projects, one result.
- Technical skills. AutoCAD, Primavera or MS Project, ETAP, Revit, PLC, the codes you work to (e.g. IEC, ASHRAE).
- Experience and projects. Project name and value, your role, team size, what you delivered and when.
- Education. Degree, university and year.
Tips
- SCE does not accept applicants with under five years of experience unless they are Saudi, so say clearly how many years you have (SCE).
- Quantify: "supervised 40 workers on a 12 MW solar plant, handed over 3 weeks early" beats "responsible for supervision". (Our advice.)
FAQ
Do I need Saudi Council of Engineers registration?
To practise engineering in Saudi Arabia, yes: SCE says all engineers practising in the Kingdom must be registered. The employer usually starts this after an offer, but put your grade on your CV if you have it.
Should I put my PEC number on my CV?
Yes, for jobs in Pakistan. Many engineering adverts ask for PEC registration. Check pec.org.pk for your registration status.
One page or two for an engineer?
Two pages is normal for experienced engineers; projects need room. Keep it to one page as a fresh graduate. (Our advice.)
