Tips
- Your CV does not have to follow a fixed template. It needs to work for your experience (University of York).
- Explain transferable skills: café work shows you can follow procedures and juggle tasks in a busy place (University of York).
- Never invent experience. A real project explained well beats a fake internship. (Our advice.)
FAQ
What do I put on a CV with no experience?
Education first, then projects, internships, part-time work, volunteering and short courses, each with the skill it shows.
Should education come first on a fresher CV?
Yes. The National Careers Service says to put education after the introduction if you are early in your career.
How long should a fresh graduate CV be?
One page is usually enough. The University of York notes that filling two pages with no experience is hard, so focus on quality.
