Who can apply
- The portal is open to job seekers "of all categories anywhere" — residents, visitors and people outside the UAE can register.
- Dubai's government HR law (Law No. 8 of 2018, Article 19) sets the basics for any appointment: at least 18 years old, the qualifications and experience the post asks for, and medically fit.
- UAE nationals get priority when a post is filled (Article 40). Non-nationals can still be appointed; the law also asks that a non-national has not been dismissed from government service in the past year.
- Each vacancy lists its own education, experience and language requirements — read them before you apply.
Documents to keep ready
- A CV in English (you upload it to your profile). Keep it as a PDF with your name in the file name.
- Your education, skills and work history typed into the profile — the portal asks for these, not just the CV.
- Certificates, passport copy and photo: the portal does not publish one list for every job. Keep scans ready and upload what the vacancy asks for.
Step by step
- Open the official site. Go to dubaicareers.ae (or the "Dubai Careers" app by the Dubai eGovernment Department). Check the address bar: the site ends in .ae and no other domain hosts Dubai Government vacancies.
- Choose Apply Now and register. Select "Apply Now", then follow the registration link in the profile section. Enter your name, email and the details the form asks for, and create your password.
- Sign in and build your profile. Sign in with the account you just made. Fill the personal and professional profile: education, skills and work history. Upload your CV here — the same account works on the website and in the app.
- Search for jobs. Use the job search to filter by entity or field. Open a vacancy and read its requirements, location and closing information before applying.
- Apply on the vacancy page. Press the apply button on the vacancy. Your profile and CV are sent with the application, so update them first if this job needs different skills shown.
- Track your application. Sign in again to see the status of each application (the app shows it too). Interviews and offers come from the hiring entity, not from agents.

Common mistakes
Our advice, from how these applications usually go wrong:
- Applying through a look-alike site or a WhatsApp "Dubai Government jobs" group instead of dubaicareers.ae.
- Leaving the profile half empty and relying on the uploaded CV — fill every section.
- Applying for posts where you do not meet the stated qualification or experience; the requirement is checked.
- Using an old CV with a different phone number or email from the one on your profile.
Deadlines
- Each vacancy has its own closing information; the portal does not publish one fixed timetable. Check the vacancy page and apply early.
- Sign in every week or two while you wait — the application status is the official answer, not a phone call from a stranger.

FAQ
Is Dubai Careers free?
Yes. The Digital Dubai service catalogue lists it as a free service. Never pay anyone to register or apply.
Can Pakistanis apply on Dubai Careers?
Yes — the portal is open to job seekers anywhere. UAE nationals get priority by law, so expect stronger competition for posts open to everyone.
Do I need to be in Dubai to apply?
No. You can register and apply online from Pakistan; an interview or a visa comes later from the hiring entity.
Can I use the same account on the app?
Yes. The official app says to use the same account as the dubaicareers.ae website.
