Who can apply
- NJP has no single eligibility rule. Every vacancy sets its own scale (BPS), education, experience, age limit and domicile or quota — read the job before you apply.
- You need a valid CNIC: the portal verifies your identity with CNIC and Pakistan's PAK-ID digital identity.
- Age is normally counted on the closing date of the vacancy, and qualifications must be complete by then — check the advert for the exact rule and any age relaxation.
- jobs.gov.pk (NEXT) is open to any job seeker who registers; work experience is only asked for when the job needs it.
Documents to keep ready
- Your CNIC (and access to PAK-ID for verification).
- Your education and experience details for the portal's CV sections — NJP builds your CV from them, and has a built-in Resume Builder.
- Scans of degrees, experience letters and domicile for the department that shortlists you; keep attested copies ready for verification. The portal does not publish one list — follow the vacancy.
Step by step
- Open njp.gov.pk. Type njp.gov.pk yourself. The footer reads "National Jobs Portal… Government of Pakistan". Ignore links sent in groups that point to other domains.
- Sign up. Click "Sign Up" or "Get Started Now" and create your account with your email and mobile number.
- Verify with CNIC and PAK-ID. The portal asks you to verify your identity with your CNIC through PAK-ID. Use your own CNIC — applications are tied to it.
- Complete your CV sections. Fill education, experience and skills in the CV sections (or use the Resume Builder). An incomplete profile is the most common reason an application cannot be submitted.
- Open a live job and apply. Search the live jobs, open one, read its eligibility and press Apply. Submit before the closing date shown on the job.
- On jobs.gov.pk (NEXT). Click "Register as Jobseeker", verify your email, add your personal details and at least one qualification, then apply to matching live jobs.
Fees
Common mistakes
Our advice, from how these applications usually go wrong:
- Registering on a copycat "national job portal" site or paying a "registration fee" to a WhatsApp agent.
- Applying with a half-filled CV section — the department sees what you typed, not your PDF.
- Ignoring the domicile, quota or age limit in the vacancy and wasting the application.
- Waiting for the last day: government portals slow down near closing dates.
Deadlines
- Each job has its own closing date; your CV sections must be complete and the application submitted before it.
- Check NJP every few days — federal vacancies are added through the year, not in one intake.
