Who can apply
- You must be a citizen of Pakistan or a person deriving nationality from the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
- Quota posts go by your own domicile certificate (self-domicile); merit-quota posts are open whatever your domicile.
- Age is counted on the closing date of applications. Relaxations listed by FPSC include 10 years (to a maximum of 55) for government servants with 2 years' continuous service, 3 years for certain areas and groups, and 5 years for the widow or child of a federal civil servant who died in service — see the instructions for the full list.
- Your qualification, experience and degree result must all be in place by the closing date.
Documents to keep ready
- Nothing is posted with the application. At physical verification you bring originals plus two attested photocopy sets of your educational certificates and CNIC.
- Two photographs, experience certificates in FPSC's Annex-3 format, and your self-domicile certificate.
- Government employees: the original Departmental Permission Certificate (DPC).
Step by step
- Open the advert on fpsc.gov.pk. Find the consolidated advertisement and the post's case number. Read the post's age, domicile and qualification.
- Apply online. Use Apply Online → General Recruitment, choose the post ("Apply for this job") and fill your profile, then add education and experience.
- Generate a PSID. Generate the PSID for the fee on the FPSC website — the old TR-6 challan is no longer accepted.
- Pay the fee. Pay against the PSID through 1-Link: ATM, mobile banking (Easypaisa, JazzCash and others), internet banking or over the counter at a 1-Link member bank, on or before the closing date.
- Submit, then edit once if needed. Submit and keep your tracking ID. FPSC allows one edit of the application before the closing date.
- Download your admission certificate. When the test is scheduled, download the admission certificate from the website — nothing is sent by post.
Fees
Common mistakes
Our advice, from how these applications usually go wrong:
- Not bringing two attested photocopy sets at physical verification — FPSC lists this as a rejection reason.
- Copies that differ from the originals, or no original DPC/NOC for government employees.
- Being under or over age on the closing date, or lacking the domicile, qualification or experience.
- A degree result not declared by the closing date.
- Paying with an old challan form, or paying after the closing date.
Deadlines
- Applications are admitted only if submitted on or before the closing date, and the fee must be paid by then too.
- If your application is rejected, you can file a representation within 30 days (fee Rs 500).
